Teen Volunteering Information

The Dixon Homestead Library Youth Services Department welcomes teens who are Dumont residents and between the ages of 14 - 17 years of age to consider volunteer opportunities at the library. Volunteering at the Library includes tasks such as organizing shelves and assisting with crafts.

We ask parents to have their teens reach out themselves, rather than reaching out on their behalf. We look for volunteers who take initiative, are detail oriented, and show a strong interest in helping at the Library.

Teens who are interested in volunteering must visit the Children’s Department at the Library to pick-up a volunteer application. Filling out an application does not guarantee volunteer shifts. Volunteer shifts are provided based on availability of tasks and what hours of availability a volunteer lists on their application.

Please note that we limit our volunteering schedules to no more than 3 hours per week, per volunteer. We do not offer weekend volunteer shifts.
